I'm Jim Harris, JEDI Founder
My career began in my senior year in high school when my home room teacher told me I was college material. A "miracle" happened. I believed her. That sent me to a private 4-year college on a 2-year academic scholarship. Another "miracle" got me a full fellowship to the Cornell University Graduate School of Business in Ithaca, N.Y.
Another "miracle" got me an internship at IBM headquarters in Armonk, N. Y. Within months, another "miracle" got me a fellowship with the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation. The outcome was my first management position. Shortly thereafter, another miracle produced the first of what would be 3 executive management positions for multi-million $ financial institutions by my 35th birthday. I was elected to the board of directors of a 25 million $ commercial bank. Within months, I was elected CEO/President. This was just the start of my management career.
Oh, by the way, by then I had already created 3 entrepreneurial ventures. I went on to form 4 more entrepreneurial ventures, one in Chicago and 3 in Atlanta, where I partnered with the second largest business incubator in Georgia to contract with the US Department of Commerce to operate the Atlanta Minority Business Development Agency.
Now, in my encore career, I have launched JEDI Prosperity Systems, Inc. a virtual startup business incubation system that includes online business courses for young working adults just itching to launch a new business.
